Compotes Ornate Floral Scroll Chantilly Gorham Pair 1895 No Monogram<br>American sterling silver compotes by Gorham Silversmiths in a pattern that very much resembles Chantilly, c.1895 and retailed by Spaulding and Company of Chicago. Spaulding originated in Chicago in 1855 and was purchased by Gorham in 1920. These compotes likely pre-date 1920. Each of of these ornate compotes has a Repousse scroll, floral and foliate border on the rim of the plate and base. Weighing a total of 764 grams or 24.6 ozs. Troy, each compote is 8\" in diameter (plate), 4 5/8\" diameter (base and4\" tall. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
